This role is primarily responsible for the business license compliance lifecycle and will participate in license applications, renewals, and research. This role requires an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong communication skills are essential. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interacting with government agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure business license compliance throughout the organization, tax research, process improvements, notice resolution, and special projects as assigned.

As a Business License Analyst, you will be responsible for the renewal process for a large portfolio of business licenses. Your primary duties will include:

  • Ensure all license renewals and registrations are filed in a complete and timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and complete data entry in License HQ, our license compliance management software.
  • Review, understand and communicate federal, state and local requirements pertaining to business licenses and permits.
  • Respond to third party notices and inquires related to business licenses and company activities.
  • Prepare and analyze data needed for license applications and renewals.
  • Maintain effective communication with field finance personnel.
  • Assist in the audit process as it relates to business licenses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams as needed.
  • Qualifications:
  • • Two-year degree, preferably in Accounting or Business
    • 2+ years' experience in a business license or permit compliance role, or a related field
    • Strong analytical and computer skills; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Ambitious and self-motivated
    • Ability to work independently and effectively work on multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to demonstrate sound business judgement, accuracy and thoroughness with great attention to detail
    • Highly organized with excellent project management skills
    • Ability to produce quality work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
    • License HQ or similar software experience a plus
    Hybrid Schedule: 2 days in office, 3 remote
    Bonus Structure: 15%
